Shopping for skin care samples can be frustrating and not to mention, expensive. We are constantly bombarded with ads for miracle skin care products that promise to solve all our skin care concerns in no time. In all reality, the only way to really find out if a certain product works is to try it.
This is where things get expensive. Quality skin care products can range from $10 to $500 per item. Typically, you will have to try quite a few of those products before you’ll find one that feels great on your skin type and is also truly effective. I don’t know about you, but I don’t have that kind of money sitting around. Free skin care samples give you the opportunity to try some new skin care products without breaking the bank.
Oftentimes, if a company does provide free samples of their product, they are confident that potential customers will like the product and discover that it is, in fact, effective. Give some of these offers a try and you’ll have an easier time finding that perfect skin care product you’ve been searching for.
Here are a few tips to consider when choosing which free skin care samples to try:
1. Give more complex anti aging products extra time. If possible, get enough of the product to test it out for anywhere from a week to a month or so. With some products, especially simple moisturizers or cleansers, you’ll know right away that you don’t like it – it may leave your skin feeling too tight, too dry or too oily. You don’t need to give it more time since the product is more straightforward. With these ones, you’ll be over it before you are even tempted to try it a second time.
However, with products that contain retinol or other anti aging ingredients, you may need to give your skin time to adapt to the product since it may feel harsh the first time or two. If you try using it every other day or every couple of days, you’ll give your skin a chance to adapt to it over the course of a couple of weeks. With these products, you do need to give it extra time since the product and it’s effect on your skin is more complex. Plus, these more advanced skin care products are usually the more expensive ones. So, you really should find out how you like it before splurging on the entire full sized product.
2. Sign up for the sample that is recommended for your skin type. For instance, some sample offers will give you the choice of a formula for dry skin or a formula for oily skin. Make signing up for these samples a priority since you will be more likely to end up with a product that will complement your skin type. If there isn’t an option given, pay attention to the product description so that you end up with sample options that are geared for your skin texture, tone and type.
3. Be sure to include all the necessary steps in your skin care routine. These include cleansing, toning, moisturizing and treating for blemishes, anti aging needs and other skin conditions. When searching for free samples of skin care products, be sure to sign up for any products that will help you fill gaps in your skin care routine. For instance, if you haven’t yet found the perfect toner for your skin, consider making that a priority as you search for skin care products to try.
