Lip gloss is probably my all time favorite cosmetics product. Glosses are the perfect pick me up for any look. Plus, they’re easy to apply and look great. Although lipsticks can look lovely, lip glosses tend to look fresher and provide that shine that other lip products simply can’t deliver.
Lip glosses range in price from just a few dollars for your typical drugstore brand glosses to anywhere between $10 and $30 for some of your higher end brand lip glosses. If possible, you should test out potential lip gloss formulas and shades at your nearest makeup counter. You can also try out some of these free lip gloss sample offers. Since most beauty lovers have dozens of lip gloss shades in their collection, free lip gloss samples are a fun and easy way to add some variety to your daily lip color options.
When choosing a lip gloss shade, here are a few suggestions.
First, try a gloss that is more sheer if you’re going for a daytime look or a more casual look. For evening or dressier makeup looks, try a bright or darker gloss. These types of lip glosses can provide an instant wow factor by really making your entire look just pop. If you use a darker color though, I suggest using a lip liner first in a slightly lighter shade to help keep your gloss in place.
Next, find a formula who’s texture you like. Some glosses are too sticky, others seem to slide right off. Others believe it or not, can seem to dry out a little, loosing their smooth finish. Nothing’s worse than getting strands of your hair stuck in your gloss as it brushes across your face. Find a gloss that feels comfortable to you. You may need to test out a few, but you’ll quickly find one that suits you best. Trying some of the lipgloss samples below can help get you started.
Lip glosses are also ideal lip makeup products for Spring and Summer. They provide a light, airy look that is perfect for the season. They are also lower maintenance than typical lipstick products. Plus, the sheer look is excellent with dewey warm weather looks.
